Niech Bóg błogosławi was i mam nadzieję, że to pomaga - w Jesu XPI Passio.

CPP Board meeting here in Chicago this weekend. I was invited to speak and to listen on Friday morning. Excellent sharing of ideas. The Interprovincial Committee on Lay Associates will meet on Monday in Jamaica, NY. I'll be there. Hope to get some ideas flowing. Check out the OME Blog at Passionist.org; click on Ministry, then on Office of Mission Effectiveness. Go to blog. Ciao, tutti. Arthur

Mark, begin with the desire to want to hear Jesus' invitation to align your self with the cries of the poor. Take that desire to prayer. Invite the community to which you belong into that same prayer. Second, seek to immerse some time regularly with communities who are serving the poor i.e. An impoverished school with few resources or volunteers,Become part of consistent service. It could very well be that you discover an "unmet" need, i.e. an issue that no one is addressing. this takes courage perseverance and time to pursue. All of this needs to be done in the context of a community. And it demands constant reflection and prayer on where this immersion is leading you. Don't worry if no one pays attention or appears to care.this is a big temptation "to be noticed," etc. I remember when I first immersed myself amidst at risk young people in a public high school cafeteria on a weekly basis, it was the community of lay and religious that kept us going forward and not giving up. let's pray for each other. alex steinmiller, cp

the question I ask myself all the time, and the question I ask of my Passionist sisters and brothers, is where am I being asked to die to myself, ego, control needs, to be of service to the poor. I live on the west side where each night for 90 minutes discussions go on among blacks over the air waves, WATV-AM about the huge inequities between rich and poor that exist here. 1 out of 4 adults in our city have a daily exisence sustained below the poverty line. 1 of 6 children suffer. Education, or lack of is that which greases the cycle of poverty. In our school it was discovered that 40 percent of our students will need 6 years of high school to graduate in 4, and go to college. PASSIONIST PARTNERS do not be afraid to align yourselves with the passionate love of Jesus from the cross...when reality appears hopeless, and there is no way...there is a way, but I think it is found in community! where do you find passionate community for justice? Ask your professed brothers.
